The Working Triangle

Kitchen designers have adopted a guide for measuring the efficiency of a kitchen.  They use the accumulative distance between the sink, stove, and refrigerator (The Working Triangle).

This distance should not exceed 25 feet and preferably be under 15 feet.  Any kitchen with a working triangle distance of 25 feet or more would require unnecessary steps to complete routine tasks.

The working triangle is effective in the following kitchen layouts:

1.  The Straight Kitchen 2.  The Galley Kitchen 3.  The L-shaped Kitchen

4.  The U-shaped Kitchen 5.  The Peninsula Kitchen 6.  The Island Kitchen
